Kaffee ist meine Waffe: Turning Everyday Stories Into Musical Magic

With a name that translates to “Coffee is my weapon,” Swiss artist Kaffee ist meine Waffe brings a unique blend of sincerity, storytelling, and emotional energy to modern music. His latest song “Conrey Green” continues his tradition of transforming everyday life into powerful melodies and relatable lyrics. Inspired by legends like David Guetta, Avicii, Freddie Mercury and Michael Patrick Kelly, he creates music that offers listeners an escape from the ordinary—music that, in his own words, is “better than drugs.”

In this interview, he opens up about his creative process, his inspirations, and the deeply personal motivations driving his artistry.

Where are you from?
From the Basel region in Switzerland.

Who are your biggest artistic influences?
David Guetta, Michael Patrick Kelly, Freddie Mercury, Avicii.

Tell me about how your creation process begins, and how your workflow looks.
Sometimes I have the melody first and need lyrics for it. Sometimes I have the lyrics and need a melody. It varies.

Where do you find inspiration?
Everyday life inspires me. My song “König im Revier” came from my cat, “Porsche” came from a vacation with a Porsche 911 in the Dolomites — they’re stories from life.

When is your favorite time of day to create your music?
Whenever I have time. On vacation, I automatically get ideas for songs.

Describe how art is essential to society nowadays.
It helps people forget everyday life and problems; you can dive into another world. Music is better than drugs.

What motivates you to create?
I feel proud when I listen to my own songs and think, “The lyrics turned out really great.”

How do you define success as a music artist?
Not by earning money — you earn very little from streams anyway. I want to bring joy to people.

Does art help you in other areas of your life?
In times of grief or loneliness, it helps me process things better.

How do you develop your art skills?
With every song, I grow. What comes next, the future will show.

What is your next move?
To share my music with the world — it needs to be discovered and heard. If people connect with it, there will be more.

Where will we see you in 5 years?
It would be wonderful to hear stories about how my songs helped people and in what moments. If listeners can find themselves in my lyrics, then I’ve done everything right.

Kaffee ist meine Waffe continues to create music born from real moments, emotions, and experiences. With a strong belief that music can heal, inspire, and connect people, he shapes his journey song by song — without compromise.

If “Conrey Green” or any of his other tracks make listeners feel understood, empowered, or less alone, he considers that his greatest success. And with his heart full of new ideas and stories waiting to be told, it’s clear that this journey is only just beginning.
