“Melodies of the Night: The Artistic World of Mete Gergin”

Born in Adana, Turkey, this true Mediterranean soul creates music that breathes emotion, depth, and authenticity. Guided not by a single influence but by every form of beauty that art can offer, they transform memories and empathy into sound. Each melody begins in silence — often in the stillness of the night — where emotions take shape and evolve into expressive songs.

For this artist, music is more than a craft; it’s an addiction, a way of living and feeling. Their creative hours bloom between 3:00 and 5:00 a.m., when the world sleeps and inspiration awakens. Through art, they find balance, healing, and purpose — believing that true success lies in touching hearts and making listeners feel.

As they continue to refine their sound and vision, they dream not of fame, but of leaving behind something timeless — a piece of art that speaks long after the last note fades.

Where are you from?
I’m from Adana, Turkey — in other words, I’m a true Mediterranean soul.

Who are your biggest artistic influences?
I don’t have a specific artist I follow. Every kind of music and every form of art that carries beauty inspires me in some way.

Tell me about how your creation part begins, and how is your workflow.
I usually start from my own memories, or sometimes by empathizing with other people’s experiences. These emotions and stories come together inside me and slowly turn into melodies. I pick up my guitar, record a rough version, and later use technology intensively to shape the sound and make it more pleasing to the ear.

Where do you find inspiration?
My inspiration comes from the deep connection I have with myself during the silence of the night.

When is your favorite time of day to create your music?
I always compose, arrange, and record my songs at night. My most creative hours are between 3:00 and 5:00 a.m. I never make music when the sun is up. If the weather is dark and cloudy, I often find melancholic melodies that I record and later develop during the night.

Describe how art is essential to society nowadays.
To me, art is the way a person expresses their feelings and thoughts — either about themselves or about the world around them. Especially today, people are desperate to say, “I exist, I’m here.” We can clearly see this on social media. People express themselves either through what they create or through what others have created. As the world grows more crowded and people feel more isolated, the need for art — and for expression — becomes even greater.

What motivates you to create?
Music is an addiction for me — I simply can’t live without it. It’s on my mind every hour of the day. I want to make music while I breathe in and while I breathe out — until my very last breath.

How do you define success as a music artist?
If I can deliver the message I want to share with people, or make them truly feel the emotion I’m trying to express, then I consider that a success. Of course, I confirm that feeling only when I hear it from the listeners who enjoy my music. That’s when I can honestly say, “Yes, I’ve succeeded.”

Does art help you in other areas of your life?
Art helps me think broadly and see things from different perspectives. When I face problems, I sing and move on with a smile. If I feel like crying, I let a few melodies pass through my mind and shed a few tears. Art allows me to manage my emotions in a healthy and creative way.

How do you develop your art skills?
I constantly empathize, observe my emotions, and try to translate them into melodies. To create the sounds I imagine, I also study the technical aspects of music and keep exploring new possibilities.

What is your next move?
I believe a person can leave behind only two things that make them truly immortal — a scientific discovery or a work of art. I may not leave behind a scientific invention, but I’m still here, working hard to create a song that could be considered a true piece of art. I hope one day I’ll achieve that.

Where will we see you in 5 years?
In five years, I hope to have built a loyal audience that truly enjoys my music — to be a musician who can live by creating art, loved for what I do and heard for who I am.

As our conversation comes to an end, one thing becomes clear — music isn’t just a passion for this artist, it’s a way of existing. Every melody reflects a piece of their soul, born from quiet nights and deep emotions. With a heart rooted in the Mediterranean and a mind open to endless inspiration, they continue to create songs that speak to both vulnerability and strength.

For them, art is not about fame or perfection, but about connection — reaching someone’s heart and reminding them that they’re not alone. And as they keep crafting soundscapes in the stillness of the night, one can’t help but feel that their journey has only just begun.
