AARV: Crafting “Nowe” From Midnight Inspiration and Global Influences

Melbourne-based artist AARV steps confidently into the spotlight with Nowe, a track shaped by late-night creativity, global influences, and a deep connection to the electronic music world. Drawing inspiration from powerhouses like John Summit, RÜFÜS DU SOL, Dom Dolla, and Swedish House Mafia — and further infused with Afro-melodic elements reminiscent of MoBlack, Hugel, and Shimza — AARV builds his music from the ground up, starting with the drop that defines the heart of his sound. Balancing a full-time career in physiotherapy with his passion for production, he finds his true spark after sunset, when ideas flow freely and music becomes an outlet for emotion, identity, and storytelling. For AARV, Nowe is not just a single; it’s a reflection of what drives him: authenticity, cultural connection, and the unshakeable belief that art has the power to bring people together.

Where are you from?
I’m from Melbourne, Australia — a city full of creative energy and culture that’s definitely shaped who I am as an artist.

Who are your biggest artistic influences?
My biggest inspirations are John Summit, RÜFÜS DU SOL, Dom Dolla, Max Styler, and Swedish House Mafia. Each of them has their own signature sound and storytelling through music that I really connect with. For Nowe, the sound drew more from MoBlack, Hugel, and Shimza — blending Afro and melodic elements with a house foundation.

Tell me about how your creation part begins, and how is your workflow.
I usually start with the heart of the track — the drop — and build everything around it. I like to study similar songs, breaking down what makes them connect, what gives them energy, and what makes them stand out. Once I’ve found that main feeling or hook, the rest of the track takes shape naturally from there.

Where do you find inspiration?
Inspiration comes from everywhere — other artists, different cultures, and sometimes just from experimenting with sounds until something clicks. I never force it; I let the music lead the way. Often the best ideas come when I’m not overthinking it.

When is your favorite time of day to create your music?
I try to work on music in the mornings, but I’ve realised I’m not as productive or creative then. Balancing a full-time job in physiotherapy also makes it hard to get consistent studio hours. My most creative time is definitely in the evening or late at night — that’s when ideas flow naturally and I can completely lose track of time. Those sessions often turn into late nights, but that’s when the best ideas usually come together.

Describe how art is essential to society nowadays.
Art brings people together, no matter who they are or where they’re from. It has the power to lift moods, create unity, and erase barriers. In a world full of division, music reminds us that we’re all connected through rhythm, energy, and emotion.

What motivates you to create?
It’s the passion and love for music itself. Creating allows me to express something that words can’t. It’s my outlet — something I have complete control over, where every sound, texture, and drop tells part of my story.

How do you define success as a music artist?
Success for me is about happiness, balance, and authenticity. It’s being recognised for your unique sound and staying true to your vision. When your music reaches people, moves them, and you’re in a good headspace doing what you love — that’s real success.

Does art help you in other areas of your life?
Absolutely. Music gives me energy and focus. It motivates me to stay productive and balanced, because the more I achieve outside the studio, the more time and space I have to create. It fuels my drive in every aspect of life.

How do you develop your art skills?
By constantly learning — from mentors, peers, and my favourite artists. I spend a lot of time analysing music that inspires me: the structure, sound design, and emotion behind it. Then I experiment with those elements to shape my own sound and identity.

What is your next move?
My next move is releasing a few upcoming tracks and really locking in my sound. It’s evolving into something a little different from Nowe — more tech-house driven, with a focus on groove, energy, and club presence. This next chapter is all about refining my identity as an artist and pushing my production to the next level.

Where will we see you in five years?
In five years, I see myself playing at the biggest music festivals in the world and headlining my own shows across different countries. I want AARV to be a name that represents powerful live energy, culture, and connection — bringing people together through music that feels alive.

As AARV steps into a new chapter of his artistic journey, Nowe stands as a testament to his late-night creativity, global influences, and unwavering passion for music. With a vision rooted in authenticity, unity, and emotional expression, he continues to refine his sound while preparing for a future filled with club-driven energy and large-scale performances. And with dreams of headlining the world’s biggest festivals in the coming years, AARV is an artist whose evolution is only just beginning.
