Breaking Boundaries: The Rise of D. Nuten

D. Nuten is an emerging artist from Norway who is quickly making a name for himself on the music scene. With a unique sound shaped by personal experiences and diverse influences, he is carving out his own artistic path. We had the chance to sit down with him to talk about his journey so far, the inspirations behind his music, and his vision for the future.

Where are you from?
I’m based in Stavanger, Norway.

Who are your biggest artistic influences?
There are so many talented people out there. But honestly, I’m most inspired by artists who create music you can truly relate to — that always resonates deeply with me.

Tell me about how your creation part begins, and how is your workflow.
It usually begins without me thinking too much about it. Days go by — filled with activities, conversations, work, and so on. Over time, life swings up and down, and I experience things or hear stories from others that sometimes just strike me and spark a song idea.
From there, it’s all about trial and error until I capture the energy or vibe I’m aiming for.

Where do you find inspiration?
I feel like that’s already described in my previous answer — inspiration comes naturally through life and interactions.

When is your favorite time of day to create your music?
I find evenings are the best time to create.

Describe how art is essential to society nowadays.
I think art is very important. Just as it has given me a lot personally, I hope I can create something that resonates with others in a similar way. If I can manage that, it’s incredibly rewarding.

What motivates you to create?
What motivates me most is simply that I enjoy it. A lot of what I create is based on personal experiences, stories, or things I’ve been told — whether happy or sad.
In that sense, much of it becomes almost like a diary, not only of my own life but also of the lives of people close to me. Every time I listen back, memories and stories resurface.

How do you define success as a music artist?
If you are able to give someone something through what you’ve made, that’s success to me.

Does art help you in other areas of your life?
Yes, I’d say it does. It allows me to test and develop my creativity, gain new skills and experiences, and also connect with other great people who share the same passion.

How do you develop your art skills?
Mostly through self-learning, but also by discussing and sharing ideas with others.

What is your next move?
For now, just continuing to create for fun and seeing where time takes me.

Where will we see you in 5 years?
That’s a difficult question. At the moment, I’m very happy with where I am, so my plan is to keep going with the flow and see how things unfold.
